What Plank does with personal data: what this website collects, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do.

Version 1.0

1.Who we are, and what this policy covers

1.1

Plank is the trading name of IDYIA, LLC, whose principal place of business is in San Francisco, California, United States. In this policy, "Plank", "we" and "us" mean IDYIA, LLC.

1.2

This policy applies when you visit joinplank.com, write to us, book a call with us, apply for a role or a program, or deal with us as a customer, supplier or partner.

1.3

What this policy does not cover:

(a)

Plank is a software engineering services company. It develops on its own infrastructure and delivers into customer-owned environments.

(b)

Where an engagement gives Plank access to personal data held in a customer's systems, the customer decides why and how that data is used, and the agreement with that customer governs what Plank may do with it. This policy does not govern that processing, and does not add to or vary that agreement.

2.What we collect, and why

3.Cookies and analytics

3.1

joinplank.com sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser's local storage.

3.2

The site loads Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies in your browser so that we can count visits and tell a returning visit from a new one.

3.3

You can refuse analytics by blocking cookies for this site in your browser, by using a content blocker, or with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

4.Who else handles it

4.1

We use a small number of service providers, who handle personal data on our instructions:

ProviderWhat it handles
VercelHosting and delivery of joinplank.com, and its server logs
GoogleWebsite analytics, the forms used for program applications, and our own email, calendar and documents
Cal.comScheduling, when you book a call with us
4.2

These providers are primarily in the United States, and Plank works from San Francisco and from centres in Brazil, Spain and Poland, so personal data we hold may be accessed from those countries. Where a transfer needs a legal mechanism, we put an appropriate one in place.

4.3

We do not sell personal data.

4.4

We also disclose personal data to our professional advisers, where a regulator, court or law enforcement body requires it or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, and to a counterparty if Plank is involved in a sale, merger or reorganisation of its business.

5.How long we keep it

5.1

We keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as our legal, tax and accounting obligations require. Then we delete it. If you want us to delete something sooner, ask.

6.How we protect it

6.1

Plank maintains a documented information security program, covering access control, secure development, acceptable use and business resilience. Each policy in it names an owner and an approver and is reviewed at least annually.

6.2

We provide those documents to customers and prospective customers under a non-disclosure agreement. Ask at hello@joinplank.com.

7.Your rights

7.1

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:

(a)

Tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy.

(b)

Correct it, if it is wrong or incomplete.

(c)

Delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it.

(d)

Restrict how we use it while a question about it is resolved.

(e)

Provide it in a portable form, or send it to someone else.

(f)

Stop processing we base on our legitimate interests, including any direct marketing.

(g)

Stop relying on your consent, where we relied on consent.

7.2

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what we collected and where it went, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for asking. Plank does not sell or share personal information.

7.3

To ask for any of these, write to hello@joinplank.com. We will ask for enough information to be satisfied who you are, and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows.

7.4

If you think we have handled your personal data badly, tell us first. You can also complain to your data protection supervisory authority: in the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office, and in the European Economic Area it is the authority for the country you live or work in.

8.Children

8.1
